My journey into therapy

My professional journey began in Leeds in 1988, where I spent 22 years as a postwoman with Royal Mail. In 2008, I embarked on a new direction, pursuing further education and a calling to become a therapist. I qualified in 2011 and gained invaluable experience working on placement for two years in Leeds City Colleges. Following this, I spent a year at Leeds College of Music, all while simultaneously building my private practice. My practice quickly flourished, and I haven't looked back since, dedicating myself fully to helping my clients.

I started my journey with Level one two and three in counselling skill and went onto :

Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling

BSc in Therapeutic Counselling

My therapeutic approach

My foundational training is in person-centred counselling, which forms the core of my practice. This approach prioritises empathy, unconditional positive regard, and congruence, creating a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore their feelings and find their own solutions. Additionally, I have deepened my understanding and expanded my skills by studying Attachment Theory and Transactional Analysis, which further enrich my ability to support clients through their unique challenges.

Making a positive difference for you

My qualifications and extensive experience allow me to create a truly impactful and supportive therapeutic environment. The combination of my foundational person-centred training with the insights from Attachment Theory and Transactional Analysis means I can tailor my approach to your unique needs. My journey from a different career path brings a grounded, relatable perspective, ensuring you feel truly heard and understood. This diverse background empowers me to guide you towards deeper self-awareness, personal growth, and lasting positive change.
